GINNY MCSWAIN is a 3-time Emmy-winning voice over recording director and casting director. She is known for her work in animation and voice-over production on such hit shows as The Smurfs, The Batman and Super Friends.

1. How did you first hear that the documentary was happening?

Rumor control sent me an email alerting me that one of Gordon's acting students was doing a documentary about him, and he was looking to cover all sides of Gordon's career. As a former alum of Hanna-Barbera Prods., I was there when Joe Barbera, who had worked with Gordon on a project or two over the years, asked Gordon to direct all the animated series for the studio. After being teamed up with Gordon for 4 years myself, I wanted to be a "voice" about that extraordinary experience.

2. What were your first thoughts/impressions upon hearing the news?

Gordon Hunt is an important figure in the Hollywood "loop". It's extremely timely that Gordon gets the spotlight that he so deserves. This is an opportunity for more people to learn all about the director/casting director who affected so many lives on screen and off, and why.

3. How was it being interviewed for the documentary? Were you nervous? Afraid you'd say the wrong thing? What was your interaction like with the crew? Interviewer?

Roger Bridges put together a crew of professionals that traveled everywhere to make it personal and comfortable for all involved. I asked to be interviewed in one of my favorite recording studios, where I felt like so much of my voice over directing career, yet alone Gordon's animation tour of duty, started. Roger didn't censor...he let me be casual and say what I needed to say, straight from the hip. I'm probably one of the more candid, opinionated interviews... ...I got to say it straight from the hip. Questions were poignant and sensitive... ...all surrounding Gordon and his effect on anyone who had worked with him.

4. What were your thoughts/impressions after the interview process was over?

I enjoyed making this a personal testimonial to someone who gave me a "career". Whether

Gordon knew it or not, by sitting at his side for several years, getting the opportunity to soak up an extraordinary education from an inspiring teacher, was a true gift. This is an important film letting people know how one person can make a difference in someone's life... ...and what the journey can be to get there. Everyone comes from somewhere, and the stories in this film are inspirational.
